A bit disappointed with this website. I just found myself really bored and not interested in looking further into the content. The different size text kind of threw me a bit, it made the page look a little funky. But perhaps it's just my eyes playing tricks since I've been staring at the computer all day!
I really wanted the blog to be better as well. The CPS Thinktank was disappointing.

Art21

Love the Art21 website. Easy to get through, tons of videos for educators and the season six educator's guide is great.

And a bunch of videos on artists....mmmmm.....Matthew Barney.

Walker Blogs

Finally a great discussion about how we view the body and dance!

"The body is the instrument of dance. We – as audiences – watch how the body moves or doesn’t move.  We observe shape, movement, and technique; body size, gender, race, age, and more. We make these observations and others through visual cues whose cultural histories predate the present performance. What is communicated through dance performance depends both on the dancers’ bodies and the audiences’ cultures of perception. That is, our bodies, as viewers, are part of the meaning." BY

Playing around for a show I have this weekend

I've finally downloaded live video delay software and I will be using it in a show this weekend. This was rehearsal last night. The dancing is very bad. I was just playing around to see what would look interesting. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

ARTSEDGE and PBS Teachers

There are really great dance lessons on the ArtsEdge website.
http://artsedge.kennedy-center.org/multimedia/series/VideoStories/swing-dance.aspx

Easy lessons for even non-dancers to teach that are a ton of fun.
The website was easy to navigate and I really liked that they had separate pages for educators, families and students, as well as a theme page and multimedia page.
The families page also talks about how to build creative spaces in the home for the kids.
I feel this is a great asset to the website.

The PBS Teachers website I found to be a bit boring but their lesson plans were really interesting and creative.

There was a lesson plan for a creative movement class that I found interesting. Video link below.

Street-Level Youth Media

I'm glad to see this type of organization has their own arts center and can rent out the space to others for parties, meetings, training/class, yoga instruction, rehearsals, performances, screenings, or recording sessions, as well as having free media arts training programs for youth ages 8 to 22.

Teaching Channel

I love that I can follow particular teachers and watch videos. Great site for teaching resources and reflection/discussion.
